Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace

In mid-January, the Mental Health Commission of Canada, the Bureau de normalisation du Québec and CSA Group released Canada’s first national standard relating to the issue of psychological health and safety in the workplace. The Psychological Health and Safety in the Workplace – Prevention, Promotion and Guidance to Staged Implementation is an entirely voluntary standard intended to assist in the development of systematic approaches to sustaining psychologically healthy workplaces. It also seeks to create a framework for the discussion and improvement of psychological health and safety at work through the identification and elimination of hazards at work that may pose a risk of psychological harm to workers.
